Select Board and Town Manager Collaboration
The Town of Jackman operates with a five member select board style government, while employing a Town Manager. Each board member is elected by the residence of Jackman and serves a three-year term. While the Town Manager is responsible for administration, the select board retains ultimate legislative authority. The relationship between the select board and the Town Manager is one of trust and collaboration. The select board focuses on policymaking, representing the needs and desires of the community, while the Town Manager manages the operations that bring those policies/ordinances to life.
Together, this form of government promotes professionalism, accountability, and efficiency, ensuring that the town is run smoothly, transparently, and in a way that best serves its residents.
The Jackman Select board meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00PM unless otherwise reported (due to holidays/scheduling conflicts). All meetings are held in the Jackman Town Office conference room located at 369 Main Street.
